Maâlem Hamid El Kasri

Biography

Born in Ksar El Kebir in northern Morocco; began training at age 7 under maâlems Alouane and Abdelouahed Stitou, with deeper inspiration from his Sudanese-descended step-grandfather. Known for a powerful voice and bridging regional Gnawa styles. Frequent festival headliner with international collaborations.
